Shawarma spicy rice

  • ¾ cup
    white rice
  • 1
  • 1
    garlic clove
  • 2
    red peppers
  • 2 tbsp
  • 7 oz
    plant-based shawarma if you can't find this, other options include plant-based chicken strips or seitan seasoned to your liking with paprika, liquid smoke, soy sauce, and maple syrup
  • 7 oz
    tomato cubes
  • 1 tsp
    Italian herb blend


  1. Cook the rice according to the directions on the package.
  2. Chop the onion, crush the garlic, clean the red pepper and cut into cubes.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok and fry the onion for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the shawarma and stir-fry on high heat for 6 minutes.
  5. Add the red pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes.
  6. Drain the rice.
  7. Add the tomato cubes, rice and Italian herbs.
  8. Season with salt and pepper if desired, and serve on plates.
