Almonds for your body
Almonds are remarkably rich in Vitamin E (Alpha – Tocopherol), which plays a central role in oxidative stress. Vitamin E is known to protect your cells from aging, and reduce inflammation.
Raw almonds contain high amounts of fibre, calcium, magnesium, riboflavin, and unsaturated fatty acids, and frequently appear in nutritional recommendations and guidelines. The Plant Milk Report, ProVeg International
Did you know? Research shows that almonds were used in Europe during The Middle Ages to produce milk substitutes, as they could be stored for longer and remain nutrient rich!
Almonds for the planet
All plant milk options are more environmentally friendly than dairy milk. A research study by Poore and Necemek, found that 1L of almond milk resulted in the lowest amount of greenhouse gas emissions, in comparison to 1L of cow’s milk, soya milk, oat milk or rice milk.
In terms of water use, almond milk has the highest impact, with 371 litres of water used for each litre of product. This amount is still 250L less than what it takes to produce 1L of cow’s milk (628L). The Plant Milk Report, ProVeg International
