World Plant Milk Day
Enjoy plant milk in your coffee with MILKLAB
August 14, 2020
All around the world, those who have ditched dairy milk are asking the same question; which plant milk option pairs best with coffee? Australia seems to have found an answer, awarding MILKLAB barista milk range with a Fine Foods Australia Best New Product Award.
The Best Coffee deserves better milk
MILKLAB was developed in Australia in 2015, with the intention of creating the best barista milk in the cafe industry. While their collaborations have grown across Australia for the last 5 years, development in South Africa is still relatively new, with features in Vida e Caffè and independent coffee shops leading the way. We are pleased to have partnered with this award winning barista plant milk range for our World Plant Milk Day campaign.
“The MILKLAB range of products, made especially for espresso based coffee, includes milks made from soy, almond, full cream and lactose-free dairy milk and are being heralded for their capacity to hold form under the wand.”
MILKLAB ColLABoration for Success
MILKLAB’s goal of creating serious milk for serious coffee, was made possible by close colLABoration with foodies, baristas and farmers across Australia. Their milks have been enjoyed and validated by some of the world’s hottest emerging baristas and coffee professionals.
Their launch in 2015 gained attention by enlisting the help of influential baristas, roasters and cafe owners to develop a milk-based cold brew coffee product, designed for chilled consumption at Fine Foods Australia. This launch is what led to their Fine Foods Best New Foodservice Product Award, and is a testament to the fact that we are stronger when we come together in colLABoration.
These colLABorations are still being nurtured, and going on 5 years of close partnership. You can read more about their colLABorators on their website over here, which features Charles Stewart, a South African barista and wine maker living in Australia @handsomebarista.Â
The range
“We have spent countless hours blending and testing the perfect milk for coffee. Our unique recipes brings you not only a milk that complements the intensity of espresso but also textures and stretches with any coffee type.”
Their range includes Almond, Soya, Coconut, and a unique feature of Macadamia Milk. Their products may be specifically designed to be paired with coffee, but many bakers, chefs, vegans, households and restaurants enjoy their versatile products as an alternative ingredient to cows milk in cooking.Â
